YouthALIVE Adventures In Science Exhibition
YouthALIVE! is a program of the Odyssey Science Center in Tallahassee, Florida. The goals of this project were:
- to provide mentorship opportunities for the high school aged participants in ODYSSEY Science Centers YouthALIVE! program in order to help them develop a clear understanding of the career paths available in science, math and engineering fields;
- to provide an opportunity for YouthALIVE! students and their mentors to win public acknowledgement of their hard work, science & engineering knowledge, and creativity;
- to provide the public with an intriguing and fun-filled sampling of experiences and phenomena
based on mainstream science and engineering principles as a means of motivating curiosity
and inquiry into math, science and engineering;
- to provide a setting for YouthALIVE! fundraising activities.
The YouthALIVE! students worked closely with area scientists, mathematicians and engineers to
create a fun-filled science learning experience. The project mentors came from FAMU School of
Architecture, Division of Engineering Technology, Graphic Design Department, student divisions of
American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, FSU
Departments of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and the FSU / FAMU College of
Engineering.
