Matt Powers is an Assistant Professor in the Master of Landscape Architecture Program at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida. He teaches regional planning, site design, and research methods among other courses. He holds a BSLA (1996) from West Virginia University and a MLA (2000) and Ph.D. (2006) in Environmental Design and Planning from Virginia Tech. Dr. Powers primary research interests include cognitive-oriented approaches to design pedagogy and the relationship between environmental design and health disparities.
