Elizabeth Lewis Beth Lewis, AIA, LEED AP has been teaching at Florida A & M University School of Architecture off and on since 1986. A native of Tallahassee, FL , Beth earned her B.A. degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA and her Master of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. While at Washington University, she worked for the campus architect and later in New Orleans for the Nathaniel Curtis Architecture Firm. She currently maintains her professional license in architecture with the State of Florida (AR0011627), which she has held since 1984 and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects. She is the current AIA Tallahassee Chapter President, the new U.S. Green Building Chapter Florida Capital Region Chapter, Founding Vice-President and founding Co-Chair of the FAMU Green Coalition. She is active in the American Solar Energy Society, the Society of Building Science Educators and is a Climate Project Presenter trained by Al Gore. An Assistant Professor at the SOA, Beth Lewis teaches upper division Third Year Design Studio as well as Sustainable Construction, Green Building Design and Introduction to the Technology of Architecture. . Previously she has taught second- and first-year design studios as well as graphics and the Building Arts courses. Beth's interests are green building design for schools, sustainability, travel, painting and sunsets at the beach. |
