Derek A. Ham

Derek A. Ham is an assistant professor at Florida A&M University's School of Architecture. Outside of his traditional architecture education from both Hampton University and Harvard's Graduate School of Design, he brings to the department expertise in traditional and non-traditional forms of digital and physical representation as well as focused research in design computation. Derek has established a design philosophy that holds true to both his teaching and practice- Advance by Serving. We can see this service initiative in teaching, course development, and even professional work as he begins to develop a series of projects in Nigeria. Derek wears many hats, but his heart is always in service.
