Application and Admission

The BSArch is a limited-access program that consists of two years in the pre-architecture program and two years in the upper division. Students may be admitted into any level of the curriculum, depending upon their background. Each student's background is evaluated, and curriculum requirements are tailored to the individual situation.

In addition to the university requirements for admission, a freshman who wishes to be considered as an architecture major must have achieved a minimum GPA of 2.50 in academic course work and 1010 on SAT1 or 21 on the E/ACT. Applicants with lower scores may be considered on a space-available basis. The university admits qualified applicants to the pre-architecture program of the BSArch program.

All students benefit from the experience of a personal academic advisor with whom they work throughout their stay at the School of Architecture. This advisor assists the student with course choices as well as other academic issues that may arise. Applicants are encouraged to contact the School to obtain an assessment of their status. For admission inquires, please contact Ron Lumpkin (rlumpkin@famusoa.net) at (850) 599-3041.
