Bachelor of Architecture Curriculum
The BArch can be completed in two semesters with 30 credit hours of advanced course work.
Students take two consecutive design studios (12 credits), two courses in architectural practice (6
credits), one course in architectural research (3 credits), and three advanced elective courses
(9 credits).
Fall Urban Design Studio
In the fall semester, an urban design project is undertaken. Most of the analysis and initial studies
are done in student teams. Each participant is responsible for parts of the study and for the design
of particular buildings. A high level of professionalism and responsibility is expected
in this studio.
Spring Terminal Project
In the spring semester, a terminal project is undertaken that asks the students to demonstrate the
skills and abilities introduced in their first four years. Each student works closely with their studio
professor and a faculty adviser.
