Master of Science in Architectural Studies Program Description The Master of Science in Architectural Studies is for those who have a professional degree in architecture and wish to acquire special skills and knowledge at the master's level. The curriculum is essentially elective in nature, and the typical candidate must be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work in a context that is often individualized in nature. Due to the short duration of the curriculum path, students should have a well-formulated thesis topic or educational agenda before entering the MSArch program. The Master of Science degree is not a professional degree and does not qualify a recipient of this degree for licensure. Students with degrees in fields other than architecture may be admitted to the MSArch program on a special basis. This may require additional course work at the undergraduate level be completed together with the normal graduate course curriculum for the degree. The degree requires 36 credits of course work and the completion of a thesis. This program is planned as a three-semester sequence. The student may enter in the fall or spring term.
